从图纸、模型到实物，通过材料建构和艺术表达相互交叠运用的建造体验，以激发园林学子创作热情，提高动手能力，弘扬工匠精神，为风景园林行业培养实践创新人才，北京林业大学兹定于2018年9月下旬至10月初举办首届“北林国际花园建造节”。

本届花园建造节的主题为“竹境·花园”，是探讨以原竹和花卉为主要材料的花园建造技术。诚挚邀请国内外风景园林及相关专业的高校师生共同参与到“北林国际花园建造节”的设计与建造活动中来！

The 1st BFU International Garden-making Festival will be hosted by Beijing Forestry University from the end of September to the beginning of October, 2018. The Festival aims to demonstrate the purpose of inspiring student passion for design, promoting crafter spirits, and cultivating creative talents for the profession of landscape architecture.Through drawings, models and actual works, the festival will provide an experience integrating material construction and artistic expression.

The festival aims to discuss garden-making techniques that use bamboo and herbs as major materials.We sincerely invite educators and students in the field of landscape architecture and other related disciplines from around the world to participate in the design and construction activities of the 1st BFU International Garden-making Festival. 

  花园节建造节主题  

  ABOUT THE THEME  

竞赛主题为“竹境·花园”，以原竹和花卉作为主要材料，设计并建造一座小花园。建造内容包括一个以原竹为材料的临时性信息亭，以及与之配套的花园空间。

组委会在北京林业大学校园内设置12~15个地块作为花园建造基址，除参赛花园外，本次建造节还将特邀一位国际知名的建筑师，设计一座以园艺为主题，以原竹为材料的临时性信息亭，面积100m²左右，将与高校参赛花园同期建成。

With "Bamboo Pavilion · Garden" as its theme, the 1st BFU International Garden-making Festival requires each participant to design and build a small garden by mainly using natural bamboo and herbs.

Besides these gardens for competition, the festival will also invite a world-renowned architect to design a bamboo-made temporary exhibition pavilion, approximately 100m²,which is to be built at the same time with the competition gardens.

  花园节组织形式   

  ORGANIZATION AND IMPLEMENTATION  

花园节组织分为4个阶段：

第一阶段：方案设计征集与邀请、评选，确定入选名单；

第二阶段：入选作品施工图绘制和可行性对接；

第三阶段：现场建造；

第四阶段：评奖、建造节开幕式及展览。

There are four phrases for the competition:

Phase-1: Call for entries. The jury reviews and confirms the winning list.

Phase-2: Construction document preparation and feasibility negotiation.

Phase-3: On-site construction.

Phase-4: Winner announcement; festival opening ceremony and exhibition.

  花园建造方案设计竞赛征集

竞赛征集

本次北林国际花园建造节的竞赛主题为“竹境·花园”，以原竹和花卉作为主要材料，设计并建造一座小花园。

花园建造基地均位于北京林业大学校园内，每块面积16m²。组委会将先期对建造基地做出统一界定，植物材料均为盆栽，不提供露地栽培植物。

建造内容包括一个以原竹为主要材料的景观构筑物，以及与之配套的花园空间。其中，竹构占地不超过8m²，余地留作花园，让花园与竹构有机融合，交相辉映。

1）竹构要求：以原竹为主要材料，以低技术方式进行搭建，占地面积不超过8m²，限高4m。应可进入，功能不限，形式随宜。

2）花园要求：建造材料仅限花卉和地被植物，须在组委会提供的材料表中选择，不宜使用其他材料和设置水面。

The theme of the 1st BFU International Garden-making Festival is “Bamboo Pavilion·Garden” , asking all participants to build a garden with natural bamboo and herbs.

All 12-15 garden plots are located within the campus of BFU, each with an area of 16m². The organizing committee will demarcate these sites ahead of time and provide potted plants, but no open-field plants. It is required to design a bamboo pavilion and a garden space. The area of the pavilion should not exceed 8m².

Requirements for the bamboo pavilion: Please use natural bamboos (Phyllostachy siridescensC.Y.Yaoet S.Y.Chen,2-7cm diameter; Phyllostachy sedulis,7-10cm diameter) as major materials; low-tech construction techniques; no larger than 8m and no higher than 4m; accessible; no specifications for function and form.

Requirements for the garden:Please only use herbs and ground covers on the material list provided by the organizing committee; no other materials and water features.

参赛人员

本次竞赛面向国内外风景园林及相关专业的在校本科生及研究生，须以小组形式报名参加方案征集，小组人数不得超过8人。鼓励跨专业合作参赛，每个小组须确定1~2 名指导教师。每组团队只能提交一份作品。

The competition invites submissions from teams of students (who could be undergraduate or graduate students). The team should have no more than 8 members.At least one of the team member is enrolled in Landscape Architecture or related programs. We encourage students to team with others who are in different majors. Each team must have one or two tutors and can only submit one work.

本次建造节分方案征集和特别邀请2种参与方式。

1）方案征集面向国内外风景园林及相关专业在校学生，入选名额3~5个。

2）特别邀请拟特邀7~9所国内外知名高校参与。

There are two ways to participate in the festival competition.

1) Schemes from students in Landscape Architecture and related programs. 3-5 teams will enter in the next stage.

2) 7-9 renowned schools and colleges will be invited to participatein the competition.

2018年3月15日前：参赛报名

1）竞赛采取两种报名方式：A.在校学生自由报名。B.受邀学校组队报名；

2）关注“北林园林资讯”“风景园林杂志”微信公众号，或《风景园林》杂志官网（www.lalavision.com），点击竞赛通知页面“阅读原文”或       

3）报名截止日期：2018年3月15日，须确定指导教师及团队成员名单。报名后将得到一个注册号，由组委会于2018年3月20日23：59（北京时间）前通过电子邮件告知参赛者。

Before March 15. 2018: Competition registration

1) Two forms: one is the free registration for full-time students (Type-A), the other is the group registration for the institutions invited (Type-B).

2) Follow on the WeChat official account "北林园林资讯" (BFU Landscape Architecture Information) and "风景园林杂志"(Landscape Architecture Journal)，click on “阅读原文” (Read more) on the competition notice page to register. Or enter the website of Landscape Architecture Journal: www.lalavision.com to apply.

3)  Registration Deadline: Please confirm advisors and team members no later than March 15, 2018. Each team will receive a registraion number before 23:59 (Beijing time) March 20. 2018 by email.

2018年4月15日前：设计方案提交

1）方案格式要求。

设计方案排布于一张横向A0图版上（高841mm，宽1189mm），JPG格式，分辨率300dpi。图版中应包含设计图及设计说明，文字须为中英双语。图版中不得出现任何透露作者、指导教师及学校信息的内容。文件命名方式为“注册号.jpg”，如：045.jpg。

Before April 15, 2018: Scheme submit

1) Submission requirements:

The design project should be presented on an A0 printed panel (841 mm high, 1189 mm wide) in landscape format, saved as JPG witha 300dpi resolution. The panel should include a reflection of the project and associated graphic representations, both in English or bilingual (English and Chinese). No author, advisor and institution information should be mentioned on the panel. The panel must be saved as a JPG and named as "registration number.pdf" ,such as "045.pdf".

2018年5月1日前：方案评选

竞赛组委会组织专家评审团对A、B两类参赛方案的设计创意及建造可行性进行评审，为A类参赛团队中的获奖方案颁奖，并从其中确定入选花园建造节的3~5个实施作品。

A类参赛作品奖项设置：

入选奖3~5名，颁发奖状及奖金，团队入选花园建造；

优秀奖8~10名，颁发奖状及奖金。

Before May 1, 2018: Entry Evaluation

The organizing committee will convene a jury to evaluate all competition entries for their design creativity and construction feasibility, giving awards to the Type-A winning entries from which five will be selected for construction during the garden-making festival.

The awards for Type-A entries:

Winning Prize: 3-5 entries; winners will proceed to on-site construction.

Excellence Prize: 8-10 entries; winners will receive certificates.

2018年5月20日前：方案细化与调整

在开始施工图设计前，组委会将根据评委和竹境竹业科技有限公司、花材赞助单位的意见，要求入选团队进行基于实际建造可行性的方案深化调整。由竹境公司和花材赞助单位向入选团队提供技术指导，直至完成施工图。

Before May 20, 2018: Design development

According to the suggestions of the jury, the “Bamboo Place” Bamboo Technology Co., Ltd. and the herbs suppliers, the organizing committee will require the winning teams to refine their schematic designs based on construction feasibility prior to the construction document preparation. The Anji Zhujing Bamboo Industry Technology Co., Ltd. and the herbs suppliers will provide technical supports to winning teams until the completion of the construction documents.

2018年6月30日前：施工图提交

1）入选建造节的3~5个公开征集作品和7~9个受邀高校作品须绘制施工图，以PDF格式提交组委会。施工图文件为A3文本，包含平立剖施工图，设计及施工说明、设计尺寸、材料做法、节点构造、细部大样、预制构件、施工进度等。

2）施工图提交截止日期：2018年6月30日

Before June 30, 2018: Construction document submission

1) The five winning entries and seven invited universities should complete their construction documents and submit them to the organizing committee in PDF form. Construction documents should be A3 printed documents, including plans, elevations, sections, design and construction descriptions, design sizes, material specifications, construction details, prefabricated units, and schedules.

2) Deadline: June 30, 2018

2018年9月下旬：现场建造

1）12支建造团队于9月下旬参加在北京林业大学举办的首届国际花园建造节启动仪式，并开始花园建造工作。建造周期为2.5天。

2）建造要求：须满足相应的技术及安全要求。 

Late September, 2018: On-site construction

1) Twelve teams will attend the opening ceremony of the 1st BFU International Garden-making Festival in laten September and then begin the garden construction work. The construction will take two and a half days.

2) Construction requirements: All relevant technology and safety requirements should be met. 

2018年9月下旬：评奖、建造节开幕式与颁奖

建造节组委会于现场建造结束后组织国内外知名专家进行评奖。建造节开幕式上将由特邀嘉宾为获奖团队颁发证书。

Late September, 2018: Prize award, the opening ceremony of the festival

The organizing committee will convene renowned experts worldwide to make award decisions. In the opening ceremony of the festival , winner teams will be awarded certificates and prize bonus by special guests.

  COMPETITION INFORMATION  

报名成功后，组委会将向参赛团队提供基地现状图，周边环境照片，可选竹材规格、植物材料表、地基基础条件等资料。

After successful registration,the organizing committee will provide participation teams with the site condition maps, photos of the surrounding areas, selectable bamboo sizes, list of plant materials, foundation conditions and other relevant information. 

  参赛规则  

  COMPETITION RULES  

1）参赛者同意并遵守本竞赛通知的内容及竞赛规则；竞赛组委会对竞赛规则拥有最终解释权。

2）电子图纸中不得出现任何有关设计者姓名和设计机构的文字或图案，不符合规定者将被取消参赛资格。
3）参赛者拥有参赛作品的版权，但竞赛组织方有权行使参赛作品署名权以外的其他版权权利，包括但不限于发行权，展览权，信息网络传播权，出版权等。
4）所有参赛者需确保自己所提交的作品为原创且未参加过其他竞赛。
5）参赛者不得接受竞赛评委任何建议与指导，违反规定者将被取消参赛资格。

1) Participants agree on and adhere to the content of this notice as well as the competition rules, the competition organizing committee reserves the right of final explanation.

2) Digital drawings should not contain any author and institution names or logos, entries which are not in accordance with the rules will be disqualified。

3) Participants own their works’ copyrights, but the competition organizing committee reserves all the rights other than authorship, including but not limiting to distribution ,exhibition, information network dissemination, publication, etc.

4) All participants should ensure their submissions are original and have not been submitted to other competitions.

5) Participants cannot receive guidance from the competition jury, otherwise he or she will be disqualified.
